Chronic Non-healing ulcers are defined ulcers that have not healed since more than 6 weeks. The cause may be a single to a multitude of diseases working in the patient. Causes commonly seen include Diabetes, Obesity, Vasculitis, Connective tissue disorders (CTD), Varicose veins, Arterial disease (PAD/PVD).

Treatment: Depends on the diagnosis and evaluation of the exact cause.
Most often chronic ulcers have multiple problems to be addressed (Arterial, Venous, Connective tissue disorders etc). Most of these patients would require long-term care to prevent ulcer recurrence.
